IntroductionWe are seeking a PCS II Cost Analyst to join the Project Controls team. This intermediate-level role is responsible for initiating and completing routine project control assignments with general oversight. The successful candidate will work closely with a small team of Project Controls Analysts and Schedulers, performing cost analysis, forecasting, change control, and reporting for a portfolio of projects with budgets totaling tens of millions annually.
Responsibilities

Perform cost analysis, forecasting, and change control for assigned projects.

Compare monthly actual costs to project baselines, identifying variances and monitoring fiscal budgets.

Generate periodic project controls analytics by validating and verifying gathered data.

Support project controls metrics reporting and distribute/archive project analysis accordingly.

Collaborate with a more experienced Project Controls lead and team members to ensure accurate cost tracking.

Integrate large data sets from multiple databases and systems to support analysis.

Required Qualifications

Graduation from a two-year college or university in business, finance, project management, engineering, technical, or equivalent field.

Minimum of 2 years of project controls experience, or 5 years in lieu of a degree.

Working knowledge of project controls principles.

Proficiency with project management/project controls concepts and computer applications including scheduling software, financial tools, and spreadsheets.

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.

Basic understanding of budgets, direct and indirect labor charges, accruals, overheads, amortization, and allocations.

Preferred Qualifications

Graduation from a four-year college or university in business, finance, project management, engineering, technical, or equivalent field.

PMI or AACE certification (PMP, CAPM, PMI-SP, AACE-CCC, AACE-PSP, AACE-CEP, AACE-EVP or equivalent).

Demonstrated proficiency with software such as MS Project, Primavera, Business Objects, Passport, MS Office Suite, Prolog, Visio, Access, Powerplant, Maximo, and PeopleSoft.

Experience working in a PMO or project controls team.

Exposure to energy-related projects a plus but not required.
