Their HIM team plays an essential role in ensuring documentation meets clinical and regulatory standards.
Job Description:
The HIM Technician will be responsible for maintaining the integrity and security of electronic medical records across several facilities. This role involves overseeing the record lifecycle, supporting clinical staff with documentation needs, and ensuring compliance with state and federal guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update electronic medical records to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Process records, oversee physician completion, and manage scanning, filing, and secure storage.
- Retrieve records and facilitate the authorized release of confidential health information.
- Act as a point of contact between HIM and hospital staff, including physicians, nurses, administrators, and leadership.
Qualifications:
- At least 1 year of experience in HIM or medical records.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills; Epic experience preferred.
- Knowledge of HIPAA and confidentiality practices.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and communication skills.
Additional Details:
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm
