Compensation: $35 – $45 / Hour

Job Description:
We are seeking a Senior Billing Specialist to join the billing and revenue team on a project-based contract. This role is responsible for managing billing and collections for assigned government contracts, performing reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with GAAP and contract requirements. The Senior Billing Specialist will work closely with project managers, accounting, contracts, and leadership to ensure invoices are accurate, funding is properly tracked, and revenue is recognized correctly.
Responsibilities include:
- Preparing, reviewing, and submitting invoices and credit memos for government and commercial contracts.
- Managing collections and following up on outstanding receivables.
- Performing contract reconciliations and monitoring funding requirements.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to address billing requirements and resolve issues.
- Supporting month-end close processes and ad hoc reporting.
- Ensuring adherence to GAAP, SOX controls, and government contracting requirements.
The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of accounting experience with a focus on billing and revenue recognition, along with prior experience supporting government contracts. Strong technical skills in Excel and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment are required. A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
