Recoveries/Collections Advisor

My client is seeking a dedicated Recoveries/Collections Advisor to join their team in Basingstoke. This role is crucial for minimising the level of arrears and the impact on provisions, ensuring robust case management prior to any terminations.The ideal candidate must be immediately available and ready to handle complex cases effectively.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Focus particularly on larger arrears cases and those with a high likelihood of loss, supporting the team in managing these effectively.
- Proactively communicate with the Workout Team to collaboratively handle complex cases.
- Report issues caused by partners that lead to arrears or prevent collection to line management and work as directed to resolve these cases.
- Respond accurately and promptly to general queries regarding arrears cases from both customers and internal staff, maintaining a focus on collection and/or avoidance of loss.
- Manage a caseload of recoveries accounts systematically and with priority, paying attention to customer exposure and time-sensitive issues such as assets at risk or securing claims against guarantors.
- Utilise different contact strategies, including telephone contact, especially early on in repudiation cases.
Additional responsibilities:
- Perform any other ad-hoc duties as required by the Line Manager.
- Recommend accounts for writing off when all recovery action has been exhausted within the collection and recovery guidelines.
- Support the wider department team as required.
- Work alongside the Recoveries Manager on various tasks, including completing and submitting invoices for our external partner on a monthly basis.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Working within a Collections & Recovery environment/role.
- Confident telephone manners.
- Proven time and task management skills.
- Proven ability to build strong customer relationships.
