- Outside IR35 @ £550 per day
- Andover or Bristol 2 days travel required

Experience
- Proven experience as a Chief Architect or similar role in large-scale, high-security environments, preferably within defence or government sectors.
- Strong track record in designing and delivering secure, complex IT and digital systems.
- Deep understanding of deployed defence technologies, including secure communications, data analytics, mission-critical applications and integrations
- Proficiency in cloud architectures, cybersecurity, software development methodologies, and system integration.
- Understanding of on-premise and deployable technologies.
- Familiarity with defence-specific frameworks, such as AF or NAF, is an advantage.
- Understanding of the Common Architectural Approach (CAA) desirable.
- Understanding of ISR or ISTAR capability advantageous
- Understanding of integrated sensor architecture (ISA) advantageous
- Understanding of MongoDB, VMWare technologies, APIs, KAFKA, and Systematic applications desirable
- Understand of ILS and Defence support models advantageous
Responsibilities
- Provide Architectural Leadership by defining and overseeing the end-to-end architecture for the programme.
- Ensure alignment with organizational objectives, defence standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Develop the technical strategy, communicate the technical vision, take ownership of the roadmap, and integration strategies for complex defence systems.
- Evaluate emerging technologies to enhance system capabilities and address future operational challenges.
- Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement working closely with senior stakeholders across the front-line commands, project managers, senior engineers and architects, security experts, and external stakeholders to deliver a solution that meet operational needs.
- Act as the primary architectural liaison between technical teams, senior leadership, and defence partners across diverse Service Executives and the Army.
- Forge close relationships with the programme integration office Chief Architect and Chief Engineer to drive up standards and governance.
- Governance and Compliance by ensuring architectural designs comply with the various defence technical design authorities, security standards, policies, and accreditation processes.
- Conduct regular reviews to assess architectural integrity, performance, and alignment with project goals.
- Manage risk by identifying and mitigating technical risks, ensuring the resilience and reliability of deployed systems.
- Ensure robust contingency plans are in place for technology solution.
- Support the development of current and future requirements for the capability through existing and future contracts.
- Support the production of outline and full business cases through contribution and architectural artefacts
- Ability to travel to customer sites 1-2 days per week
