Technical Lead

FTC 6-8 months, Remote

Tate are delighted to be working with an NHS Client to recruit a Technical Lead position on a remote basis.

Our client is looking to bring in some additional technical delivery support for an NHS digital program, someone who can act as a Scrum Master/technical delivery enabler. You would be embedded directly with their technical team and contractors, helping them deliver in a fast-paced, complex environment.

Main Duties

A focus on facilitating agile delivery (sprint planning, stand-ups, retros, backlog management) rather than high-level project controls.
Day-to-day support for the technical team, unblocking issues and keeping delivery moving at pace.
Technical awareness to bridge communication between contractors, technical colleagues, and non-technical stakeholders.
Coach, enable, and provide clarity to the existing team.
Expand the service to draw on additional datasets.
Improve and streamline data pipelines.
Transition to and expand the service with other NHS digital programs.

Ideal Candidate

Agile Delivery - Essential
Scrum Master - Essential
Ability to structure, roadmap, and align programme goals with organisational priorities
Skilled in setting up decision-making frameworks, escalation pathways, and oversight boards
Proactively identifies, assesses, and mitigates risks across delivery streams
Builds trusted relationships with internal and external partners
Designs KPI frameworks and monitoring tools to report on impact, timelines, and budget
Synthesises complex programme updates for varied audiences-exec, delivery, public
Can revise delivery plans and resource allocation as requirements evolve
