3rd Line Support, Infrastructure, SSIS, Integration, SQL Server Integration Service, Azure, Azure Data Factory, ETL, ELT, Git, SQL, Query, Stored Procedures
My Surrey based client are looking for and experienced 3rd Line Infrastructure engineer who has previous experience supporting/managing SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) for an initial 6 month contract, with the possibility of long term extensions. This is a hybrid role and you will be required to work from their offices based in Leatherhead, Surrey 2 days per week. There may also be occasional travel to other sites.
The main purpose of this role will be to support, maintain & develop enterprise integrations across their application landscape, ensuring reliable, secure and efficient data flows. The role focuses on hands-on integration delivery and operational support, implementing solutions based on defined requirements and ensuring integrations run effectively in line with agreed service levels.
The key areas that you will be responsible for are as follows:
- Requirements Implementation
- Work with business and IT stakeholders to understand integration requirements
- Translate defined requirements into working integration solutions
- Support refinement of requirements by identifying gaps or technical constraints
- Integration Development
- Build and maintain integrations using:
- SSIS
- Azure Data Factory
- Azure Integration Services (where required)
- Develop ETL/ELT pipelines in line with agreed specifications
- Ensure all development includes:
- Documentation
- Testing
- Version control (Git where applicable)
- Monitoring & Operations
- Monitor integrations to ensure they are running as scheduled
- Validate that data flows:
- Complete successfully
- Transfer accurately between systems
- Investigate and resolve failures, errors, and data issues
- Provide 3rd line support for complex integration incidents
- Incident & Support Management
- Take ownership of integration-related issues through to resolution
- Act as technical escalation point for integration problems
- Work collaboratively with other teams to resolve cross-system issues
- Support ServiceNow queue activities by progressing assigned tickets
- Knowledge & Experience
- Experience with:
- SSIS and/or Azure Data Factory
- SQL (queries, stored procedures)
- Understanding of:
- Data integration concepts (ETL/ELT)
- Data formats and data movement
- Exposure to:
- Azure Integration Services (desirable)
- Source control tools (eg Git)
- AI Tools supporting Code Development and Specifications
