Accounts Assistant / Bookkeeper (Temporary - 6 Months)
Location: ShrewsburyHours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pmContract: Temporary (Approx. 6 months)
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Accounts Assistant / Bookkeeper to support our finance function on a temporary basis for approximately 6 months. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys a hands-on, traditional accounts role and can confidently manage day-to-day financial processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing Accounts Payable - processing invoices, reconciling supplier statements, and preparing payments
- Handling Accounts Receivable - raising invoices, chasing outstanding payments, and allocating receipts
- Maintaining accurate financial records and ledgers
- Bank reconciliations
- Assisting with month-end tasks
- Supporting general bookkeeping duties as required
- Liaising with internal teams and external suppliers/customers
About You
- Proven experience in an accounts assistant or bookkeeping role
- Strong working knowledge of accounts payable and receivable processes
- Comfortable working in a traditional, hands-on accounts environment
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Able to manage workload independently and meet deadlines
- Confident communicator with a professional approach
- Experience with accounting software and Microsoft Excel
