Accounts Payable Assistant (Part time- 2 days a week).
- Location: Leatherhead, Surrey (Parking on site and neat the train station)
- Job Type: Temporary, Part-time (2 days per week)
- Hourly rate: £16.83 per hour PAYE or £20.88 per hour via an umbrella company
- Start Date: ASAP, initially 3 weeks to cover sickness.
We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Assistant to join a dynamic organisation on a temporary basis. This role is office-based in Surrey and offers a hands-on opportunity to ensure the efficient operation of the accounts payable function. Working closely with the Finance Manager, the successful candidate will be integral during a crucial transition period for the finance department.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Accurately process supplier invoices and credit notes.
- Manage a shared AP inbox, ensuring invoices are logged and processed promptly.
- Liaise with internal teams to resolve invoice queries and match purchase orders.
- Support with troubleshooting system issues and data discrepancies.
- Monitor Direct Debits and Standing Orders, ensuring invoices are approved prior to payment.
- Maintain and update the AP query log, resolving outstanding items.
- Reconcile supplier accounts against statements.
- Provide support during a recent finance system migration and ongoing system stabilisation.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years' experience within an Accounts Payable or finance role.
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles.
- Experience working with finance systems; Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central experience is desirable.
- Previous involvement in a system migration would be advantageous.
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively in a part-time capacity.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
