Applications Lead (Contract)

Our Client, based in Edinburgh are looking for an Application Lead for the administration, stability, and continual improvement of core applications, including Dynamics CRM and F&O, and the Microsoft 365 Suite. The role ensures these systems are configured, governed, and supported in line with agreed organisational standards, security requirements, and data governance principles. The role operates with a high level of autonomy and is expected to proactively identify opportunities for improvement through lo-code and pro-code solutions. This includes investigating on new applications and services across Power Platform, Fabric, Microsoft Graph and Azure.

This Role will be operating Outside IR35. Ideally this candidate will be based in Scotland, and visit the Edinburgh Office on occasion.

Key responsibilities:

• Accountable for the system administration and operational stability of core enterprise applications including Dynamics CRM, Sharepoint and OneDrive.
• Drive continual improvement & knowledge sharing (research emerging tech, propose improvements)
• Lead continual improvement across the application estate, identifying opportunities to enhance functionality, efficiency and user experience
• Ensure application configuration standards are defined, maintained, and consistently applied.
• Own and oversee the application change management process, ensuring changes remain within agreed scope.
• Escalate risks, exceptions, or out-of-scope changes through established management and governance channels.
• Provide technical direction and oversight for the application support and engineering team

Essential Skills:

• Advanced Technical Capability across Enterprise Application Platforms
• Strong understanding of Data Governance, security and access control
• Ability to operate across lo-code and pro-code solutions
• Effective Technical and Non-Technical Communication
• Stakeholder Management Internally and Externally with Vendors and Implementation Partners.

Experience:

• Advanced experience administering and supporting enterprise applications such as CRM, Finance, and Collaboration Platforms
• Advanced experience and understanding of Microsoft Power Platform, Fabric and Microsoft Graph
• High Level understanding of Microsoft Azure service in an enterprise context
