UK-based - Remote with travel to Derby (approx. once every two weeks for onsite collaboration; more frequent initially if required)

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Azure Infrastructure Engineer to support the delivery of enterprise-scale Azure environments. This role is focused on project-based delivery work rather than BAU support, with particular emphasis on building and implementing Azure Enterprise Scale Landing Zones and supporting infrastructure migrations to Azure.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on Azure infrastructure experience and be comfortable working within secure, highly governed environments.

Experience with Azure Batch is desirable and would be advantageous, particularly in helping accelerate adoption and delivery within the team, but it is not essential for candidates with strong Azure infrastructure foundations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and configure Azure Enterprise Scale Landing Zones for enterprise clients

  • Deliver Azure infrastructure solutions aligned with governance and security best practices

  • Support migration of workloads from on-premises or other cloud environments into Azure

  • Implement infrastructure-as-code (IaC) solutions using Terraform

  • Work with Azure DevOps pipelines to support CI/CD and automated infrastructure deployment

  • Develop and maintain automation using PowerShell

  • Collaborate with architects, security teams, and delivery stakeholders

  • Participate in onsite team collaboration sessions in Derby as required

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong hands-on experience with Azure Infrastructure (IaaS/PaaS)

  • Proven experience delivering Azure environments in enterprise settings

  • Experience implementing or working with Azure Landing Zones

  • Infrastructure migration experience (on-prem to Azure)

  • Experience with:

    • Terraform

    • Azure DevOps

    • PowerShell

  • Experience working in secure, regulated, or government environments

  • Active SC Clearance

  • Sole UK National

Desirable Experience

  • Experience implementing or working with Azure Batch

  • Experience within Cloud Centre of Excellence (CCoE) or similar enterprise cloud programmes

  • Exposure to enterprise governance frameworks (CAF, Well-Architected Framework)
