Key Responsibilities:

Daily Account Management: Keep accounts up to date, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
Purchase Ledger: Handle supplier invoices and maintain an organized purchase ledger.
Bank Reconciliations: Conduct thorough bank reconciliations to ensure all transactions are accounted for.
Expense Management: Process expenses and assist with basic journal entries.
Month-End Support: Contribute to month-end closing activities, including reconciliations and data tidying.
High-Volume Transactions: Navigate a busy, multi-transaction environment with ease.
Process Adherence: Quickly grasp existing processes and follow them consistently for reliable outcomes.
Communication: Liaise with suppliers and internal teams effectively and calmly.
Independence: Work autonomously with minimal supervision once familiarized with tasks.
Ownership: Take pride in your daily responsibilities, demonstrating reliability and accountability.

What We're Looking For:

• Proven experience in a hands-on Bookkeeper or Accounts Assistant role within an audited SME.
• Confidence in using Xero or similar cloud accounting software daily.
• Strong experience in managing purchase ledgers, bank reconciliations, and expenses.
• Organised and methodical approach to work.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with suppliers and team members.
• A high level of reliability and ownership of tasks.

Additional Desirable Skills:

Experience in the automotive, engineering, or parts-heavy sectors.
Familiarity with multi-currency transactions.
Basic understanding of VAT, including international aspects.
