Business Analyst - Telephony
Role: Contract (Inside IR35)
Rate: £350 - 400 per day
Location: London (Hybrid - occasional onsite presence in Waterloo/Victoria)
Duration: 6 months
Start date: Immediate

Exalto Consulting is supporting a time-critical programme where maintaining operational continuity from Day-1 is essential.

We're looking for a Business Analyst with strong telephony experience to take ownership of analysing a complex telephony estate and ensuring services remain stable, functional, and low-risk through transition.

The role

This is not a typical BA role focused on future design or transformation.

Instead, you'll focus on:

  • Understanding how telephony works today
  • Identifying risks, dependencies, and constraints
  • Defining clear, practical requirements to protect Day-1 operations

You'll work closely with technical teams and stakeholders to ensure that nothing critical is missed and that telephony services continue to function seamlessly.

What you'll be doing

  • Analysing telephony systems, suppliers, and configurations across organisations
  • Building a clear view of critical services and dependencies
  • Defining Day-1-ready requirements for any required changes
  • Identifying and managing risks, assumptions, and constraints
  • Supporting planning and sequencing of telephony changes
  • Producing clear, structured outputs that delivery teams can act on

What we're looking for

  • Experience as a Business Analyst working on telephony or infrastructure projects
  • Strong ability to break down complex technical environments
  • Experience producing clear, delivery-ready requirements
  • Comfortable working with technical teams and stakeholders
  • A practical, grounded approach focused on getting things done

Desirable

  • Experience with enterprise telephony platforms (VoIP, PBX, contact centres)
  • Experience in complex or multi-organisation programmes
  • Exposure to Day-1 readiness or transition planning

Why this role is different

Telephony is a critical service that cannot fail.

This role sits at the heart of that challenge - ensuring that from Day-1, communication works exactly as it should.

You'll be trusted to provide clear thinking, structured analysis, and practical outputs that directly protect business operations.
