Day-to-day of the role:
- Visit major grocery multiples such as Asda, Sainsbury's, Morrisons, Tesco, and possibly some cash and carry stores, focusing on merchandising and ensuring optimal shelf management.
- Perform 6-7 calls per day, ensuring shelves are fully stocked, head office displays are showcased, and promotions are active and visible.
- Manage seasonal peaks such as Christmas, Easter, Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, and Father's Day, aiming to maximise stock distribution from the warehouse.
- Conduct cold visits following a journey plan with a call file, typically containing 40 calls, adhering to a schedule that dictates the frequency of store visits each month.
- Work hours are structured as follows, full-time (Mon-Fri):
- Jan - Apr: 8 hours per day
- May - Aug: 8.1 hours per day, excluding Mondays
- Sept - Dec: 8 hours per day
- Develop and maintain relationships within stores, getting to know personnel like those in stock control and store management.
- Engage in fact-finding within stores to assess needs and opportunities.
- Utilise a survey system to report back on observations, including stock levels and additional display setups. Data for each store is recorded using specific apps.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proximity to Newcastle and surrounding areas.
- Experience in a customer-facing, field-based role, preferably within the retail or merchandising sector.
- Familiarity with the operations of major supermarkets and the ability to work independently.
- Strong relationship-building skills, with an outgoing and confident personality.
- Demonstrated ambition and a drive for achieving results.
- Proficient numerical and written communication skills.
- Organised with effective planning skills.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Previous experience in similar roles is highly desirable.
Training and Development:
