Job Title: Buyer Location: Waynesboro, PA 17268 Duration: 6-Month Contract (Possible Extension) Shift: First Shift Position Overview We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Buyer to join our manufacturing supply chain team in Waynesboro, PA. This role is responsible for managing procurement activities, maintaining material availability, supporting production schedules, and building strong supplier relationships. The ideal candidate will have experience in manufacturing purchasing, MRP systems, supplier management, and SAP. The Buyer will work closely with Planning, Production, Warehouse, Logistics, and Global Procurement teams to ensure timely delivery of direct materials while supporting inventory optimization and continuous improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities Analyze MRP demand and replenish inventory to support production requirements. Create and release Purchase Orders (POs) and Stock Transfer Orders (STOs) to suppliers and intercompany plants. Obtain order confirmations and estimated delivery dates from suppliers. Monitor supplier performance and ensure on-time material deliveries. Review open purchase orders and proactively resolve overdue or delayed orders. Support daily production meetings by communicating material availability and supply risks. Execute MRP exception messages and prioritize critical material requirements. Coordinate with suppliers and feeder plants to meet production schedules. Identify and communicate potential material shortages to Planning and Production teams. Escalate supplier issues through established procurement channels (JIRA process). Analyze Line of Balance (LOB) reports when supplier constraints occur. Prepare and distribute monthly forecasts to suppliers. Resolve supplier-related issues involving delivery, pricing, invoicing, and quality. Support supplier development initiatives and continuous improvement efforts. Assist with engineering changes, ISO requirements, and supplier quality activities. Drive inventory reduction initiatives, including excess and obsolete inventory projects. Collaborate with Warehouse and Logistics teams to resolve receiving discrepancies. Process and resolve Accounts Payable invoice discrepancies using Maple. Ensure accurate purchasing transactions and receipts within SAP ERP. Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field OR Minimum of 3 years of purchasing or production planning experience Experience as a Direct Buyer in a manufacturing environment Experience supporting Purchasing, Planning, and Production operations Strong understanding of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) Experience using ERP systems (SAP preferred) Fluent English communication skills (written and verbal) Knowledge of manufacturing planning and production sequencing Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Excellent communication and negotiation skills Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Proactive, customer-focused, and team-oriented Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines Preferred Experience Experience in one or more of the following industries: HVAC Manufacturing Metal Fabrication Electronics Manufacturing Refrigeration Manufacturing Industrial Manufacturing (PG - R1) Employment Type: Full Time Salary: $25 - $30 Hourly Bonus/Commission: No
