Buyer

A well-known Aerospace organisation are currently seeking an experienced Buyer to join a growing purchasing team in Gloucester.

• Role: Buyer
• Duration: 6-month contract
• Pay: Up to 25 p/hr (Inside IR35)
• Location: Gloucester (Fully onsite)

This role will play a key part in supporting the business by sourcing goods and services under optimum conditions of cost, quality, delivery, and compliance, while ensuring a smooth end-to-end Purchase-to-Pay (P2P) process.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage purchasing activities within your scope, from sourcing through to contract management
• Lead supplier tendering, evaluation, and selection processes
• Negotiate commercial terms and support the drafting of supplier contracts
• Build and maintain effective supplier relationships
• Consolidate supplier performance assessments across quality, logistics, and cost
• Drive supplier improvement and cost-reduction action plans
• Maintain accurate purchasing data within procurement systems
• Identify and resolve issues and disputes in a proactive manner
• Support sourcing start-up activities and supplier onboarding

You will work closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers, contributing to supplier performance, cost optimisation, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Requirements:

• Experience within Aerospace, Defence or similar environments
• Proven knowledge of purchasing methodologies and P2P processes
• Experience working within a purchasing team using procurement information systems
• Strong numerical and analytical skills
• Indirect purchasing experience
• Good understanding of industrial, purchasing, and contractual/legal principles
• Proven ability to prioritise tasks and manage tasks across multiple sites.

This is a fantastic role for a proven Buyer within the Aerospace sector who's comfortable dealing with multiple stakeholders, complex tender requests and has indirect purchasing experience.
