Our local facility focuses on Product Handling, Raw Material, and Water Conditioning machinery, and we are looking to add a Buyer who can help keep our operation running efficiently by managing supplier relationships, supporting production schedules, and driving strong purchasing outcomes. Competitive Compensation: Excellent base salary Comprehensive Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance 401(k) Generous Paid Time Off: PTO, sick time, vacation, paid holidays, and your birthday off Stable, Established Manufacturer with Global Reach High-Impact Role: Directly support production and supplier performance Hybrid role in Galesburg, IL with 3 days in office and 2 days remote Job Details Key Responsibilities and Duties: Source and procure raw materials, components, and services to support production schedules Work closely with vendors to ensure on-time delivery and expedite orders when needed Identify, evaluate, and qualify new suppliers to address sourcing challenges Negotiate vendor pricing, terms, and contracts Review current supplier pricing and benchmark against other vendor options Support continuity of supply for manufacturing operations Maintain purchasing data and transactions within ERP systems Collaborate with internal teams to ensure purchased materials align with operational needs You should have most of the following: 5+ years of purchasing or procurement experience in a manufacturing environment Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field preferred Strong background in sourcing raw materials, components, and services for production Experience working directly with vendors on delivery, pricing, and contract negotiations Ability to discover and qualify new suppliers to resolve supply chain challenges Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite SAP experience is a plus Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing setting Interested in hearing more?
