Job Summary

We are seeking a Buyer to manage procurement activities including supplier sourcing, bidding, negotiation, purchase order management, and supplier performance.

This role is responsible for ensuring the best quality, service, pricing, and delivery for purchased materials, equipment, and services while supporting manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Source and evaluate suppliers for materials, equipment, and services
  • Research supplier capabilities, pricing, and product availability
  • Prepare RFQs and issue purchase orders to approved suppliers
  • Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, quality, and contract terms
  • Maintain accurate lead times for assigned commodities
  • Evaluate bids for standard and non-standard purchases
  • Develop alternate sourcing options and supplier strategies
  • Monitor supplier performance and delivery commitments
  • Resolve supplier-related quality, shipment, and delivery issues
  • Handle returns, damages, cancellations, engineering changes, and claims
  • Conduct supplier site visits and supplier evaluations
  • Prepare procurement reports, analytics, and trend summaries
  • Participate in cost reduction and continuous improvement initiatives

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in:
    • Business Administration
    • Supply Chain
    • Procurement
    • Related field
  • 1-3+ years of purchasing/procurement experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPM (Certified Purchasing Manager) certification preferred
  • Internship or early-career procurement experience acceptable

  • Purchasing and supplier negotiation experience
  • RFQ and purchase order management
  • Supplier relationship management
  • ERP/MRP or purchasing systems experience:
    • EDI
    • MRP systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Financial analysis and reporting interpretation
  • Ability to calculate:
    • Discounts
    • Percentages
    • Commissions
    • Cost comparisons
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Microsoft Office and business systems proficiency

  • Procurement regulations and compliance
  • Manufacturing and aerospace purchasing practices

  • Will NOT convert to direct hire

    • Junior: 1-2 years
