Job DescriptionJob DescriptionThe Cash Application Specialist is responsible for accurately applying customer payments to open invoices, researching payment discrepancies, and ensuring accurate accounts receivable records. This role plays a critical part in the order to cash cycle by supporting timely revenue recognition and maintaining clean customer accounts.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply customer payments (checks, ACH, wire transfers, credit cards) to open invoices accurately and efficiently
- Review remittance advice and supporting documentation to ensure proper application of cash receipts
- Investigate and resolve unapplied cash, short payments, overpayments, and payment discrepancies
- Post adjustments, write offs, and on account payments in accordance with company policy
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for all cash application activities
- Reconcile daily cash receipts to bank deposits and reports
- Collaborate with Accounts Receivable, Billing, and Collections teams to resolve account issues
- Assist with month end close activities and reporting related to cash application and AR
- Support audit requests and maintain compliance with internal controls and procedures
Qualifications & Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
- 1-3 years of experience in cash application, accounts receivable, or billing
- Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
- Experience working with remittance data and high volume transactions
- Proficiency in accounting systems and Microsoft Excel
- Ability to research discrepancies and resolve issues independently
- Strong organizational and communication skills
This is an immediate need on a contract basis. Applicants should be available to start immediately.
Pay Details: $24.00 to $28.00 per hour
