Cloud & Identity Operations Engineer - Contract - Inside IR35

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Cloud & Identity Operations Engineer to support secure cloud and identity platforms within a highly regulated cyber-defense environment.

This is a hands-on operational role focused on maintaining stability, resilience, and secure day-to-day operations across Azure cloud and identity infrastructure. Working within an Embedded delivery model, you will collaborate closely with client stakeholders and cyber security teams to support critical production-grade platforms.

This opportunity is ideal for someone who is technically strong, operationally disciplined, and comfortable owning cloud and identity services in a security-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and support Azure Local (Azure Stack HCI) and Azure IaaS environments
• Manage identity and access services using Microsoft Entra ID and Active Directory
• Perform patch management, compliance activities, backup, and disaster recovery operations
• Support incident, problem, and change management processes
• Maintain monitoring, alerting, and platform visibility across cloud services
• Collaborate with cyber security and endpoint teams to ensure secure integrations
• Support transition activities and knowledge transfer processes
• Contribute to operational stability and continuous service improvement

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong hands-on experience with Azure Local and Microsoft Azure Cloud platforms
• Expertise in Microsoft Entra ID, Active Directory, and Identity & Access Management (IAM)
• Strong Windows Server administration experience including AD and File Services
• Experience working within regulated or security-focused environments
• Excellent troubleshooting, operational support, and incident management skills
• Ability to work independently in a highly accountable operational role

Desirable Experience

• Background as a Cloud Infrastructure or Platform Engineer
• Experience supporting production-critical environments
• Calm, methodical, and reliability-focused approach to operations
• Exposure to cyber-defense or security-led infrastructure environments
