Cloud/Infrastructure Engineer, outside IR35 - SC Cleared - Milton Keynes - £600 per day - 2 days a week onsite
We are looking for experienced Cloud/Infrastructure Engineers who have a proven track record in providing solution design advice to clients. The ideal Cloud/Infrastructure Engineer will have worked on large scale agile programmes in the public sector.
About you
Our ideal candidate is conscientious, client-focused and able to work to tight deadlines, sometimes at short notice. You are reliable, self-motivated and able to work without close supervision. You are technically proficient with impressive analytic and communication skills; you are comfortable with talking to clients and enjoy the variety of working on different projects. You can code if necessary, and produce high quality written outputs. You are likely to be an experienced architect, with a strong track record of application delivery and possibly with a management consultancy or solution integrator background. Any experience of enterprise-level applications and their integration with other systems would be highly desirable.
The Role
We are looking for experienced Cloud/Infrastructure Engineers with a strong background in data-centric hosting and platform security to join our consultancy team. You will be deployed directly into high-profile public sector departments, providing the mission-critical infrastructure that supports large-scale agile programmes and national digital services.
In this role, you will champion a "Platform-as-a-Product" approach, ensuring that infrastructure is treated as a strategic asset. You will be responsible for designing and implementing high-integrity cloud environments that enable seamless data interoperability, high availability, and evidence-based security. Your expertise will be critical in delivering "Secure by Design" foundations that are scalable, resilient, and fully compliant with the stringent regulatory mandates of the public sector.
The role involves embedding yourself within the client's technical estate, working to tight deadlines to guide the overall programme architecture. You are a conscientious, self-motivated engineer who is as comfortable producing high-quality written design patterns as you are writing Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC). You will act as the bridge between Legacy departmental infrastructure and modern, cloud-native "Target State" architectures.
As a Cloud Engineer on site, you will operate with a high degree of autonomy, providing expert consultancy to ensure services are fit for purpose. You will proactively manage platform integrity, conduct ongoing threat modelling, and ensure that automated deployment pipelines (CI/CD) are robust and secure.
