Overview

We are seeking a skilled Cloud Platform Engineer to join our Software Engineering team and support a large-scale delivery programme. You will work within a collaborative engineering environment, contributing to the design, development, deployment, and optimisation of cloud-based solutions across enterprise platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, test, and deploy cloud application solutions integrating cloud and on-premise infrastructure.
  • Develop and implement scalable infrastructure and platform environments.
  • Produce proofs of architecture to validate performance, security, and architectural viability.
  • Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for cloud platform engineering, guiding technical decisions across multiple teams.
  • Provide leadership and support to the engineering team, ensuring effective delivery and decision-making.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of cloud services into wider systems.
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying optimisations within the cloud architecture.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of technical excellence and knowledge sharing.
  • Stay up to date with emerging cloud technologies and industry best practices to enhance solution delivery.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Advanced proficiency in Google App Engine (GAE).
  • Strong expertise in Cloud Infrastructure and Cloud Platform Architecture.
  • Advanced working knowledge of Google Cloud Storage.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Terraform for infrastructure-as-code.
  • Proven experience delivering secure, scalable, and resilient cloud platforms.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to work across multiple engineering teams.
