Overview
We are seeking a skilled Cloud Platform Engineer to join our Software Engineering team and support a large-scale delivery programme. You will work within a collaborative engineering environment, contributing to the design, development, deployment, and optimisation of cloud-based solutions across enterprise platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, test, and deploy cloud application solutions integrating cloud and on-premise infrastructure.
- Develop and implement scalable infrastructure and platform environments.
- Produce proofs of architecture to validate performance, security, and architectural viability.
- Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for cloud platform engineering, guiding technical decisions across multiple teams.
- Provide leadership and support to the engineering team, ensuring effective delivery and decision-making.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of cloud services into wider systems.
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying optimisations within the cloud architecture.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of technical excellence and knowledge sharing.
- Stay up to date with emerging cloud technologies and industry best practices to enhance solution delivery.
Required Skills & Experience
- Advanced proficiency in Google App Engine (GAE).
- Strong expertise in Cloud Infrastructure and Cloud Platform Architecture.
- Advanced working knowledge of Google Cloud Storage.
- Intermediate proficiency with Terraform for infrastructure-as-code.
- Proven experience delivering secure, scalable, and resilient cloud platforms.
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to work across multiple engineering teams.
