Star Staffing is seeking a skilled and motivated CNC Programmer / Machine Shop Department Manager to join a stable and innovative local manufacturer. This position involves programming, operating, and maintaining CNC machines while ensuring adherence to quality standards and safety protocols. The ideal candidate will have a strong machining background, technical expertise, and a proactive attitude.

Job Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled and detail oriented Machine Programmer to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will develop, optimize, and maintain CNC programs to ensure precise and efficient machining operations. Your expertise will directly contribute to producing high quality components with tight tolerances, utilizing advanced programming techniques and manufacturing technologies.

This position offers the opportunity to work with state of the art equipment - including CNC lathes and milling machines - while applying your technical knowledge to improve production processes and uphold safety standards.

Responsibilities

• CNC Programming: Develop and modify CNC programs using CAM software (SolidWorks, Camworks, Mastercam, Featurecam).
• Technical Drawings: Interpret detailed drawings to ensure accurate machining.
• Machine Setup: Operate CNC lathes and milling machines with proper tooling and fixtures.
• Quality Control: Verify part dimensions using bore gauges, micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators.
• Collaboration: Work with engineering teams to review CAD models for manufacturability.
• Lean Manufacturing: Implement practices to optimize processes, reduce waste, and improve cycle times.
• Troubleshooting: Address programming and machinery issues to minimize downtime.
• Safety Compliance: Follow safety guidelines and maintain a secure work environment.

Experience & Skills

• Proven CNC programming experience (milling machines, lathes).
• Strong knowledge of Haas or similar CNC control systems.
• Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
• Familiarity with GD&T principles for precision measurement.
• Mechanical knowledge of tooling setups.
• Skilled in using precision measuring instruments (bore gauges, micrometers, calipers, dial indicators).
• Ability to translate solid models into machining programs with strict tolerances.
