Adecco Staffing is working with a manufacturing company in Keene, NH to bring on a Tool Maker / Tool Room Technician. This position offers flexibility for temp-to-hire or direct hire based on skill level and experience and supports precision tooling and machining operations.
Position: Tool Maker / Tool Room Technician
Shift: 2nd Shift, Monday - Thursday, 3:00 PM - 2:00 AM (4-day workweek)
Pay: $28.00-$38.00 per hour, depending on experience
Duties / Responsibilities• Plan and perform precision internal and external tool setups
• Perform skilled bench work including grinding, milling, turning, lapping, scraping, fitting, and adjusting parts
• Manufacture intermediate to complex parts from engineering drawings and prints
• Set up and operate manual and CNC machines while maintaining tight tolerances
• Select, dress, and mount tooling, grinding wheels, and fixtures
• Program or edit CNC programs directly at the machine
• Use CAD software and related systems for tooling design and machining
• Perform test runs, make machine adjustments, and verify part quality
• Inspect parts using gauges, micrometers, and visual inspection techniques
• Maintain accurate documentation and support preventative maintenance schedules
• Collaborate with Engineering to improve tooling designs and manufacturing processes
• Handle regulated waste materials in accordance with federal and state guidelines
• Perform basic welding and soldering as needed
• Train and assist less experienced operators when required
Qualifications• High School Diploma or GED required; technical certifications preferred
• Strong knowledge of tooling, machining processes, and materials (especially steel types)
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret complex technical specifications
• Proficiency with GD&T
• Strong industrial math skills including decimals and fractions
• CNC programming experience required
• Experience using precision measuring tools such as gauges and micrometers
• Basic computer skills with CAD/CAM proficiency
• Basic welding and soldering abilities
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team
