Commercial Procurement Manager (Apprenticeships)
Contract: 12 months
Rate: £500-£550 per day (Inside IR35)
Location: London (2-3 days/week preferred) | Manchester or Bristol considered | Flexible options available
Security Clearance: SC (Active or Lapsed - Essential)
Overview
We're supporting a high-profile, cross-government programme seeking an experienced Commercial Procurement Manager to lead on the management and re-procurement of apprenticeship contracts.
This is a key role focused on driving value, performance, and continuity across apprenticeship provision within a complex government environment.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the commercial and procurement management of apprenticeship contracts
Lead contract performance management, including KPI monitoring and reporting
Conduct regular contract management meetings with apprenticeship providers
Support the re-procurement of new apprenticeship contracts
Help establish and embed a BAU contract management framework to ensure long-term continuity
Work across high-profile, cross-government stakeholders, aligning delivery with programme objectives
Essential Experience Skills
Proven experience in commercial procurement management within UK Government
Direct experience managing apprenticeship contracts (essential)
Background in education, learning, or talent acquisition programmes
Strong understanding of Government Commercial Agency (GCA) [Crown Commercial Service (CCS frameworks and processes
Experience operating within central government environments (ideally DSIT or Cabinet Office)
Ability to manage supplier relationships and drive performance across complex contracts
Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skillsTechnical Methodology Experience
Understanding of Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies
Familiarity with tools such as JIRA and project management software
Additional Information
Flexible working options available, though some on-site presence is preferred
Other base locations (Manchester or Bristol) will be considered alongside London
