Communications and Marketing Officer
Salary: NJC Scale 5 £28,598 - £31,022
Hours per week: 21 hours per week (salary Pro-rata)
The Communications and Marketing Officer will be responsible for the ongoing improvement of USCNs profile among stakeholder groups and the wider population, promoting USCN objectives to enhance its public image and engagement.
Who we are:
The Ulster-Scots Community Network (USCN) was established in 1995 as a Charity, limited by guarantee. Its primary focus is to promote awareness and understanding of the Ulster-Scots tradition in history, language, and culture. Through a continuing programme of wide-ranging projects, we also highlight the significant contribution of the Ulster-Scots community to the development of life in Northern Ireland, the border counties of the Republic of Ireland, and the wider Ulster-Scots diaspora.
Over many years we have created a large network of member organisations and interest groups who share our passion in preserving, promoting and developing Ulster-Scots heritage and culture in all its forms.
What we do:
Working with colleagues across communities we aim to achieve this by:-
Providing an umbrella organisation for all interest groups engaging in Ulster-Scots activities - language, culture and history;
Increasing capacity and building relevant skills within the Ulster-Scots community; Promoting Ulster-Scots activities and aiming to increase community confidence; Acting as a focal point for dissemination of information concerning Ulster-Scots;
Developing Ulster-Scots culture and heritage throughout the education, arts, tourism sectors and the wider community.
