Computer Repair and Refurbishment Technician - £13.45 per hour via Umbrella - Birmingham - Onsite 2pm -10pm - 1 month rolling - SCC Flex Contract

We are seeking a dedicated Computer Repair and Refurbishment Technician to join our team in Birmingham. This is an exciting opportunity for a Computer Repair and Refurbishment Technician to work in a fast-paced environment, supporting IT refurbishment operations and ensuring high-quality standards are met. This role operates on a 2pm-10pm shift pattern, offering a consistent afternoon-to-evening schedule.

Your responsibilities as the Computer Repair and Refurbishment Technician:

• Diagnose faults in laptops and desktop computers using diagnostic tools
• Repair, replace or upgrade hardware components
• Update BIOS/firmware and reload operating systems
• Retest equipment to ensure functionality and refurbishment standards
• Inspect and refurbish devices cosmetically
• Clean and prepare devices including removal of labels and residue
• Apply vinyl coverings and cosmetic enhancements
• Conduct quality control and grading of equipment
• Complete data entry on SCC systems
• Ensure all equipment is data safe
• Meet SLA/OLA targets with attention to detail
• Achieve productivity KPIs while maintaining quality
• Follow all training, policies, and procedures including health and safety
• Maintain high security awareness
• Support wider team activities as required
• Handle equipment carefully to avoid damage
• Communicate professionally with internal and external stakeholders

As a successful Computer Repair and Refurbishment Technician, you will have:

• Experience diagnosing and repairing computer hardware OR willingness to learn
• Experience in refurbishment OR willingness to be trained
• Strong problem-solving skills
• High attention to detail and manual dexterity
• Ability to work independently and within a team
• Ability to follow procedures
• Commitment to health and safety
• Ability to obtain required security clearance
