Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week, 9am-5pm with 30 minutes lunch
We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established client for the position of Credit Control Administrator. This role is office-based and offers a potential transition from temporary to permanent employment based on performance. The successful candidate will be responsible for the administration of customer accounts and ensuring efficient processing and management of payments.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Handle cash office responsibilities from Monday to Friday, including counting and keying as required.
- Process bank statements and accurately input and post customer payments (cash, cheques, and direct debits), including managing unpaid direct debits.
- Accurately process debit and credit card transactions onto customer accounts.
- Create daily and weekly unallocated payment reports and promptly investigate and resolve outstanding items.
- Open new customer accounts and maintain existing customer records, prioritising setup according to delivery schedules.
- Generate and issue direct debit letters, trade reference letters, and new customer account packs.
- Manage the input, production, and distribution of Sales Managers' reports.
- Monitor and respond to emails received in the Accounts inbox and assist with incoming call volumes within the Accounts Department as required.
- Handle internal customer account queries and maintain accurate customer diary updates.
- Take customer card payments and provide administrative support in resolving account-related queries.
- Release accounts on credit hold for reception accounts only.
- Distribute internal and external post.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Excellent communication and financial administration skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a good understanding of financial payment processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to multitask.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team and meet challenging deadlines.
- Excellent telephone manner with the capacity to be extremely patient.
