Data Engineer (SC Cleared)

Rate: £565 per day (Inside IR35)
Contract Length: 12 months
Clearance: Active SC required
Additional Requirement: Must have 5 years unbroken UK residency
We are recruiting for an experienced Data Engineer to support delivery on a long-term, high-impact programme within a secure environment. This role is ideal for someone with strong Back End engineering and data pipeline experience, combined with modern Java-based development skills.
You will play a key role in designing, building, and optimising scalable data solutions that support critical business and operational outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Design, build and maintain scalable data pipelines and data services
- Develop Back End components using Java and Spring Boot
- Work with Docker to containerise applications and support deployment
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust data solutions
- Ensure high data quality, performance, and reliability across systems
- Support integration of data from multiple sources into unified platforms
Core Skills & Experience (Required)
- Strong experience with Java development
- Proven expertise with Spring Boot frameworks
- Hands-on experience with Docker/containerisation
- Experience working as a Data Engineer within complex environments
- Solid experience with SQL and data modelling concepts
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Nice to Have Skills
- Experience with data pipeline tools (Airflow, Kafka, Spark)
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP)
- Familiarity with relational and NoSQL databases
- Additional programming experience (Python, Scala)
Essential Requirements
- Active SC Clearance (must be valid)
- 5 years continuous UK residency
- Ability to attend London office 1 day per week
