Contract Opportunity: Defect Manager (SC Cleared)
Ten10 is one of the UK's leading independent consultancies specialising in Quality Engineering and Software Testing. We are currently seeking a highly organised and structured Defect Manager for a critical 6-month contract supporting a key client project.
This role is heavily focused on defect management within a fast-paced environment, requiring a candidate who can maintain a rigorous approach to tracking, prioritisation, and stakeholder communication.
Role Overview
Position: Defect Manager (Contract)
Duration: 6 months
Rate: Circa £550 per day (Inside IR35)
Location: Lancashire (Hybrid: 2-3 days per week onsite at client base)
Clearance: Must be eligible for SC Clearance
What You'll Be Doing
As the Defect Manager, you will bring hands-on expertise to manage the end-to-end defect life cycle. Your focus will be on ensuring high-volume defect data is handled with precision and that all stakeholders remain aligned on resolution priorities.
Defect Management: Take full accountability for planning, managing, and executing all defect-related activities.
Structured Triage: Lead defect triage meetings, ensuring a disciplined and structured approach to risk prioritisation and mitigation.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Work confidently within a Matrix organisation, managing complex relationships with vendors and third-party delivery partners.
Process Improvement: Drive continuous improvement in defect reporting and resolution workflows.
Reporting: Provide clear, data-driven insights into defect trends and project risks to senior leadership.
What We're Looking For
We need a contractor who excels in high-pressure, defect-heavy environments and possesses the following:
Exceptional Organisation: Proven ability to work in a highly structured way, managing large volumes of data without losing detail.
Defect Expertise: Extensive experience in dedicated defect management roles, specifically within large-scale delivery life cycles.
Stakeholder Mastery: Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage expectations and drive accountability across diverse teams.
Methodology Knowledge: A strong background in both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
Consultancy Mindset: Prior experience in a consultancy environment is highly desirable.
