This is a *Peterborough* Hybrid based role with an excellent immediate start within a Public Sector organisation working on *Delivering and continuously improving the Energy Management Plan.*

We are currently seeking experienced Energy Managers to join a major infrastructure programme on an initial 6-month contract. This is a predominantly remote role with occasional travel to offices in Peterborough, London, York, and other locations as required.

The Role

As an Energy Manager, you will play a key role in developing, implementing, and continuously improving energy management practices across a large operational estate. You will work with a range of internal and external stakeholders to drive energy efficiency, support compliance, and identify opportunities for sustainable improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver and continuously improve the Energy Management Plan.
• Monitor, analyse, and report on energy usage, trends, and performance.
• Maintain and develop the Energy Management System in line with ISO 50001 standards.
• Conduct energy audits and identify opportunities for energy efficiency improvements.
• Prepare business cases to support investment in energy-saving initiatives.
• Coordinate energy reduction programmes and monitor their effectiveness.
• Design and deliver energy management training workshops and supporting guidance.
• Keep up to date with changes in energy legislation and industry best practice, communicating updates to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to share knowledge and deliver continuous improvements.
• Support wider sustainability and utilities initiatives through effective stakeholder engagement.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Proven experience implementing and maintaining an Energy Management System aligned to ISO 50001.
• Demonstrable experience working within energy management, delivering measurable results.
• Certified Measurement and Verification Professional (CMVP/CMPV) qualification.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills with the ability to interpret and present data.
• Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience designing and delivering training programmes.
• Strong influencing and relationship-building skills.
• Previous project management experience.

Desirable Qualifications

• Level 3 Recognised Energy Manager vocational certificate (or equivalent).
• Membership or practitioner status with a recognised professional body such as AEE, AEM (Association of Energy Managers), or EMA (Level 2 or Level 3).
• Evidence of continued professional development within the energy management sector.
