ERP Consultant (MacPac) - 12 Month Contract - Outside IR35 - [Location/Remote]

Role Overview:

We are working with a manufacturing sector client who are looking for an ERP Consultant with MacPac experience to support and maintain their core ERP environment. MacPac experience is genuinely scarce in the current market, so our client is open to candidates with strong IBM i (iSeries) or AS400 backgrounds who can bridge into MacPac, as well as those with direct OpenVMS platform exposure where MacPac has historically run.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support and maintain the MacPac ERP environment and related Legacy applications
• Operate within OpenVMS-based or IBM i/AS400-based production environments, depending on background
• Execute existing SOPs for recovery and operational continuity
• Participate in structured knowledge transfer from existing/retiring team members
• Carry out system health checks, restarts, recovery, incident response, and OS-level troubleshooting
• Translate business and operational requirements into practical ERP support solutions

What You Will Ideally Bring:

• Direct MacPac ERP experience (highly desirable but not essential given market scarcity)
• Strong hands-on experience with OpenVMS or IBM i/AS400 (iSeries) in a production support setting
• Experience supporting mission-critical, Legacy manufacturing or distribution ERP environments
• Working knowledge of Cobol, RPG, Fortran, or Pascal
• Exposure to CODASYL or network-model database technologies is an advantage
