Associate Corporate Counsel - Mercedes-Benz North America

Our client, Mercedes-Benz North America (Automotive & Mobility Industry) is seeking an Associate Corporate Counsel to join their team. You will be part of the Legal Department supporting Engineering, Product Development, Commercial, Privacy, Compliance, and Operations teams. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, adaptability in fast-paced environments, and a business-oriented mindset, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Associate Corporate Counsel
Location: Hybrid (On-site preferred in Ann Arbor, MI / Atlanta, GA / San Jose, CA with 3-4 days onsite; remote within the U.S. also considered)
Pay Range: $46.88 - $53.57 per hour

What's the Job?

  • Provide legal guidance to Engineering and Product teams on development, deployment, and commercialization of new technologies
  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements (NDAs, licensing, procurement/vendor agreements, development agreements, and POCs)
  • Advise on data privacy and security compliance (including GDPR, CCPA, and related regulations)
  • Support litigation matters including fact development, strategy support, and coordination with outside counsel
  • Provide legal counsel on AI, emerging technologies, regulatory issues, and corporate compliance matters

What's Needed?

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active bar membership in good standing (CA, MI, or GA preferred)
  • 2 years of experience in a law firm and/or in-house legal environment
  • Strong experience with commercial contracting and technology transactions
  • Solid understanding of corporate law, compliance, and legal research/writing
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
