Interim Financial Accountant - Local Authority
- Location: Hybrid (2-3 days per week in the office)
- Day Rate: £450 per day
- Location Leeds LS1
We are currently seeking an Interim Financial Accountant to join our team. This role is crucial for ensuring the completion of the Statement of Accounts and the year-end close down process. The position is ideal for a fully qualified accountant with a strong background in local authority financial processes.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Lead and deliver the year-end close down process for a local authority.
- Prepare and support the completion of the Statement of Accounts.
- Provide hands-on technical accounting support during a busy period.
- Work closely with internal finance teams to support statutory reporting deadlines.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Fully qualified accountant (CIPFA preferred; CCAB also considered).
- Proven hands-on experience with local authority year-end close down.
- Strong background in preparing the Statement of Accounts within a local authority setting.
- Ability to hit the ground running with minimal handholding.
- Must have local authority experience.
