Interim Year-End Financial Accountant / Financial Reporting Specialist

Robert Half is partnering with a leading Financial Services PLC to appoint an Interim Year-End Financial Accountant to support a busy year-end period and drive the delivery of consolidated group reporting.

The Opportunity

Working closely with the Group Financial Controller and senior finance leadership team, you'll play a crucial role in preparing, reviewing and delivering year-end outputs across the group. You'll also act as a key contact for both internal stakeholders and external auditors, ensuring deadlines are met and reporting is accurate.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation of the year-end pack, ensuring accuracy, compliance and timely delivery.
• Own group consolidation processes, including review of entity submissions and preparation of consolidated results.
• Manage audit liaison, coordinating with external auditors, responding to queries, providing supporting schedules and ensuring a smooth audit process.
• Prepare statutory accounting schedules, technical papers and supporting documentation for year-end.
• Review and strengthen financial controls, identifying improvements for future reporting cycles.
• Work cross-functionally to gather information required for disclosure notes, balance sheet reconciliations and key financial statements.
• Support senior finance leadership with ad-hoc financial reporting and project work as required.

Who We're Looking For

You'll be a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with strong experience in:

• Year-end close and financial reporting
• Group consolidation within complex structures
• Statutory accounts preparation (IFRS/FRS102 exposure beneficial)
• Audit management / audit prep
• Fast-paced PLC, FS or highly regulated environments

• Duration: Initial 6 months
• Start: Immediate
• Location: Bristol 2 days per week + travel for key leadership meetings
• Day Rate: Competitive
