Financial Counselor (Healthcare / Oncology)Location: Onsite - Farrell, PA 16148 with some hybrid/remote flexibility (occasional travel to Greenville, PA office)
Work Schedule: Full-Time - Monday through Friday, 8 am - 4:30 pm
New Hire Starting Pay: As a new hire, up to $21.25 per hour, based on skills and experience

Based primarily out of our
Farrell/Shenango Valley area facility with occasional coverage in
Greenville, this role offers a
hybrid schedule providing remote flexibility once fully trained.
Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Financial Counselor, you will be the subject matter expert on insurance navigation and financial assistance. Your mission is to remove financial barriers so patients can focus on healing.

Insurance & Authorizations: Secure initial and subsequent prior authorizations for oral/infused chemotherapy, scans, and other essential services.

Patient Advocacy: Meet directly with patients and families to discuss billing, evaluate financial obligations, and resolve insurance desk issues.

Financial Assistance: Initiate assessment applications for underinsured patients and identify eligibility for drug reimbursement programs or medical assistance.

Collaboration: Work closely with clinical teams and the billing department to ensure seamless operations and HIPAA-compliant communication.

Front Office Support: Assist with verification of benefits and general office functions
Who You Are - Minimum Qualifications RequirementsWe are looking for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a mission-driven environment.

Education: High school diploma or GED required.

Experience: Minimum of 3 years of work experience, within a medical office or oncology setting.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in word processing and computer systems is required; experience with EPIC is highly preferred.

Knowledge Base: Strong familiarity with medical terminology, third-party payer regulations, and credit/collection laws.

Soft Skills: Exceptional communication skills and the ability to solve complex problems with empathy and professionalism.
