We are looking for a commercially minded, strategic marketing leader who can:
- Audit and optimise our entire digital marketing ecosystem
- Bring structure and accountability to agencies and freelancers
- Strengthen DTC performance
- Support retail marketing initiatives
- Mentor and guide our new in-house social media executive
- Build scalable marketing systems
This is not an execution-only role.
This is a strategic, senior-level position.
Key Responsibilities
1️ Digital Strategy & Performance
- Conduct a full audit of our digital channels (Shopify, email, paid ads, organic social, SEO)
- Create a clear 12-month marketing roadmap
- Define KPIs and performance metrics across all channels
- Improve conversion rate, AOV and customer lifetime value
- Review attribution and reporting
2️ Agency & Supplier Management
- Review current agency relationships
- Assess performance and ROI
- Recommend changes where needed
- Manage external marketing partners
- Ensure alignment with commercial objectives
3️ DTC Growth
- Optimise customer acquisition strategy
- Improve paid media performance (Meta, Google etc.)
- Develop email and retention strategy
- Strengthen brand positioning online
4️ Retail & Trade Marketing Support
- Align brand messaging across retail and DTC
- Support key retail launches
- Develop trade marketing materials where needed
- Help connect consumer marketing to retail sell-through
5️ Team Leadership & Mentorship
- Mentor our new Social Media Executive
- Build structure, content planning and reporting systems
- Bring clarity and confidence to the in-house team
Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who:
- Has operated at Head of Marketing / Marketing Director level
- Has scaled a £1m-£10m consumer brand
- Understands e-commerce deeply
- Has managed agencies and performance marketing budgets
- Is commercially sharp (not vanity metrics driven)
- Is hands-on but strategic
- Understands gifting / food / FMCG / lifestyle sectors
- Is comfortable in founder-led businesses
Bonus:
- Experience in omnichannel brands (retail + DTC)
- Experience with Shopify brands
- Experience mentoring junior marketers
Commitment
- 1-2 days per week equivalent (flexible structure)
- Hybrid (Liverpool preferred but not essential)
- 3-6 month initial contract with potential to extend
