Job Title: Furnace Operator
Location: Coventry
Pay Rate: 30.61 per hour via PAYE
Shift: 3 days on, 3 days off: 7am-7pm, 6-weeks of early shift.
3 nights on 3 nights off: 7pm -7am, 6-weeks of night shift.
Contract Length: 6 Months
We are looking for a reliable and motivated Furnace Operator to join our production team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating high-temperature furnaces, supporting manufacturing processes, and ensuring all production activities are completed safely and efficiently.
This role would suit someone with experience in manufacturing, engineering, production, or industrial environments.
Key Responsibilities
Furnace Operations
- Operate and monitor high-temperature furnaces using DeltaV SCADA software
- Set up and manage the Steam Ejector System (SES)
- Carry out all furnace loading and unloading activities
- Support the loading and unloading of carousels
- Prepare CVI furnaces for loading, including removal and cleaning of graphite furniture
Production & Assembly
- Disassemble jigs and infiltration stacks, accurately recording serial numbers
- Weigh discs and record production data using SAP systems
- Build infiltration stacks in line with production specifications
- Manufacture carbon bungs
- Assemble jigs and support assembly operations
- Apply AO paint to machined discs
- Assist with clipping duties within the assembly area
- Assist with shot blasting operations
- Assist with laser part marking processes
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in a similar position
- Ability to follow technical procedures and safety standards
- Experience using SAP, SCADA systems, or similar manufacturing software is advantageous
- Good attention to detail and record-keeping skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexible approach to duties and shift work where required
