AI Engineer (Python/Java)
London (Hybrid)£700-900/day (Umbrella)
A leading global investment bank is seeking an experienced AI Engineer to drive the adoption of Generative AI and Agentic AI across its Global Markets and Operations functions. You'll play a key role in delivering scalable AI solutions that enhance trading operations, automate workflows, improve regulatory controls, and increase business efficiency.
Key Responsibilities- Design and implement GenAI and Agentic AI solutions for enterprise workflows.
- Build AI frameworks aligned with governance, security, and regulatory standards.
- Develop intelligent automation to improve operational efficiency and productivity.
- Partner with business and technology teams to identify high-value AI use cases.
- Deliver scalable, cloud-native AI applications with a focus on measurable business outcomes.
- Contribute to AI strategy, architecture, and best practices across the organisation.
- Strong development experience with Python and/or Java (C++ beneficial).
- Proven experience building Generative AI and Agentic AI applications.
- Experience implementing AI solutions within financial services or other regulated environments.
- Strong SQL skills.
- Cloud experience with Azure, AWS, and/or Snowflake.
- Experience with CI/CD and version control tools (Git, TeamCity or similar).
- Understanding of AI governance, prompt engineering, and LLM frameworks.
- Experience supporting business-critical financial applications.
- Knowledge of trading, securities, or capital markets.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Commercial mindset with a focus on delivering measurable value.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Self-starter who thrives in fast-paced, collaborative environments.
- Degree in Computer Science or equivalent commercial experience.
