Position:  GEOINT Tradecraft & Strategy Lead - Business Analyst

Location:  Springfield, VA

Clearance:  Active TS/SCI


Overview:

To secure an award, we are recruiting a highly experienced Tradecraft & Strategy Lead - Business Analyst with an active TS/SCI Clearance to lead high-impact initiatives, provide strategic guidance, and drive process modernization across the enterprise. This role requires a blend of deep subject matter expertise, program management, and leadership to solve complex organizational challenges. The analyst operates with significant autonomy, advising senior leadership, mentoring team members, and ensuring the alignment of programs with strategic objectives. This position is central to enhancing GEOINT capabilities, improving business functions, and ensuring the successful execution of critical missions through expert analysis, process re-engineering, and stakeholder collaboration.

The Senior Business Analyst drives data-informed decision-making, process improvement, and strategic alignment that directly supports NGA’s ability to deliver timely and accurate GEOINT capabilities.

What You’ll Do:

Approach work with a strategic, analytical, and mission-focused mindset. Collaborate with government stakeholders to refine and document business requirements, clarify operational objectives, and assess organizational performance. Apply data analytics and business analysis techniques to identify inefficiencies, evaluate risks, and recommend solutions that improve processes, compliance, and mission outcomes. Lead or support process improvement initiatives, performance assessments, and strategic planning efforts. Develop briefings, reports, and decision support materials for senior leadership. Serve as an action officer as required, coordinating tasks, tracking progress, and ensuring deliverables are completed accurately and on schedule in alignment with NGA priorities.


Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Creating strategies to target partnerships and relationships with internal and external entities that are key stakeholders in GEOINT learning, GEOINT Professional Certification (GPC), and GEOINT workforce planning.
  • Developing, facilitating, implementing, and documenting (in policy, if required), initiatives that support long-term NSG, ASG, and Community Geospatial-Intelligence Training Council (CGTC) strategies, interoperability, and strategic policies that may include:
  1. Baselining GEOINT training.
  2. Mapping GEOINT competencies.
  3. Establishing, assessing, and mapping community GEOINT training standards
  4. Developing and maintaining common GEOINT course catalog and GEOINT portal.
  5. Implementing standard and repeatable GEOINT Training Advisory Group (GTAG) requirements processes.
  • Developing and implementing organizational performance metrics to measure and report progress against NSG, ASG, and CGTC strategic intent and plans.
  • Leading the creation, communication, and support the completion/maintenance of standardized organizational planning templates/plans (e.g., GEOCOM templates, CGTC templates, reports to ODNI and USD(I) Project Management Plans, Standard Operating Procedures, Plan of Actions, and Milestones, etc.)
  • Driving the development and delivery of programmatic measures, metrics, and support 
  • coordination and facilitation of Program Management Reviews to assess and report progress against relevant initiatives.
  • Support discussion at internal and external meetings and participate in targeted issues or theme-specific activities related to strategic initiatives, organizational activities, strategic communications, or representation. Examples may include:
  1. Participate in office-level leadership offsites to provide insights into ongoing CGTC activities or issues. 
  2. Participate in DNI, USD(I), or NGA conferences, or other related venues as directed.
  • Support coordination and facilitation of CGTC meetings.
  • Meet and coordinate with other NSG and ASG training organizations to exchange ideas, issues, and concepts.
  • Support CGTC with providing policy input and required reporting to ODNI and/or USD(I) on behalf of the NSG.
Requirements
  • Possess a B.S. degree in degree in business, information management, or related field which cannot be substituted for work experience.
  • Demonstrate experience in a distinct functional or cross-functional business area. 
  • At least 7 years of demonstrated experience in GEOINT tradecraft competencies, Training development, Human Capital Development, or related disciplines.
  • At least 5 years demonstrated experience assembling project information to include objectives/outcomes/deliverables; writing, revising, and editing drafts including executive summaries, conclusions, and organization credentials. 
  • At least 5 years demonstrated experience compiling and delivering decision briefs to seniors and their staff.

Security Clearance Requirements:

  • This position requires you to have an active TS/SCI Clearance. A government background investigation will be conducted on selected applicants to determine whether they qualify for access to classified information.

The pay range for this job is determined by various factors, including but not necessarily limited to location, responsibilities of the job, and alignment with market data. When determining a salary for this role, the following factors may be taken into consideration: contract-specific affordability, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience.
