Geotechnical Laboratory Technician

Cooper Testing Labs is a geotechnical testing laboratory. We are looking for a laboratory technician to perform various geotechnical tests. The Geotechnical Laboratory Technician is responsible for laboratory testing of geotechnical and construction materials including soils, rock, and aggregates. Previous geotechnical testing experience is valued, but not required. On the job training is provided.

Responsibilities:

• Organize and prepare samples for testing.
• Perform laboratory geotechnical tests in accordance with ASTM, Caltrans, and AASHTO standards.
• Maintain a clean and organized work space.
• Operating, cleaning, maintaining, and calibrating testing equipment.
• Communicating effectively verbally and in writing.
• Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds to shoulder level.
• Excellent organization skills, attendance, and time management skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and projects
• Previous experience in a lab environment is a plus.
• Basic Algebra, Geometry, and Chemistry is a plus
