Head of Cyber Defence

Interim Head of Cyber Defence - Global Law Firm - Inside IR35 - Up to £1,300 per day

I'm partnering with a highly innovative, global law firm to appoint an Interim Head of Cyber Defence for an initial 3 month period, reporting directly to the CISO.

This is a senior mandate for an experienced cyber leader to provide both strategic direction and hands on operational leadership to a maturing, multi region cyber defence function.
The assignment

Over the three months, your main focus will be to:

• Deliver strategic guidance and operational expertise to the Cyber Defence team, ensuring CISO goals are clearly progressed and team performance aligns with those objectives.
• Mentor key senior leadership team members within Cyber Defence, providing consultancy to improve efficiency, leadership capability and stakeholder engagement.
• Review and develop existing Incident Response plans and where necessary, recommend and implement changes so they align with strategic and operational objectives and support the broader CISO cyber programme.
• Identify and develop operational and performance reporting for the CISO, including robust performance measures, tracking metrics and trend analysis.

Key details:

• Duration: Initial 3 month assignment, to start as soon as possible.
• Status: Inside IR35.
• Day rate: Up to £1,300 per day.
• Location: Largely remote. Some ad hoc time in the London office when required.
• Working pattern: Approximately 3 days per week, which can be three full days or a blend of half days across the week.

• A seasoned Cyber/SOC/Cyber Defence leader used to operating at Head of/Director level.
• Comfortable stepping into a complex, global environment and quickly building credibility with a CISO, senior stakeholders and a developing team.
• Strong track record in incident response, cyber operations, performance reporting and coaching senior leaders.
