Role Description
The Infrastructure Analyst - Storage will join an already established Platform team within CBS, providing technical expertise to troubleshoot and resolve production incidents or problems independently, escalating to Senior Engineers if required. The analyst completes tasks to agreed levels of quality within stated timescales with minimal supervision, looks for improvement opportunities, and supports peers through accurate technical documentation.
Responsibilities
- Independently troubleshoot and resolve production service incidents
- Undertake technical tasks such as patching, allocating storage, maintaining scripts, and configuring backups
- Effectively prioritize tasks to ensure high priority activities are completed first
Requirements
- VMware and enterprise skills such as vRealize, SRM, Operations Manager
- CISCO UCS infrastructure (compute, networking and storage combined)
- Good knowledge of storage technologies vSAN and VxRail
- Experience with Linux command line technologies (Unix interface)
- Experience with IBM Flash Systems - replication using global mirror, metro mirror, and change volumes
- Cluster management within Spectrum Scale, Oracle, and ESXi environments
- Knowledge of Spectrum Scale protocols (GPFS, NFS, SMB) in active active topology
- Awareness of GKLM (SKLM)
- Understanding how actions can affect availability
- Provision and management of storage across the IBM storage estate (all technologies)
- Ticket management experience using ServiceNow
- Appreciation of Cloud technologies (AWS) and related features; knowledge of AWS server administration
- Experience working within an Agile delivery environment
- Knowledge of VMware products including vSphere, vRealize, and related technologies
- Knowledge of Cisco UCS & HPE infrastructure
- Understanding of virtualisation architectures and supporting experience
- Experience with Linux command line technologies and Spectrum Scale (GPFS, NFS, SMB)
Financial services experience would be desirable but not essential.
