Desktop Support Engineer - Windows 11 Deployment - West Lothian

Contract: 3 months
Rate: Up to £150 per day
IR35: Outside IR35
Location: West Lothian (on-site/site visits required)

The Role

We are recruiting a Desktop Support Engineer to support a short-term engagement in West Lothian, delivering a mix of BAU 2nd line support and Windows 11 deployment activity. This role will focus on end-user device builds, replacements, site visits, and asset management as part of an ongoing refresh programme.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone comfortable working on-site, managing devices end-to-end, and supporting users in a live environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Installation and deployment of Windows 11 on laptops and desktops
• Building and configuring new laptops and desktops
• Application installation and updates via SCCM
• Device configuration, updates, and troubleshooting
• 2nd line BAU desktop support alongside deployment work
• Replacing and allocating laptops and desktops to staff
• Site visits across West Lothian locations
• Removal of old desktops and laptops from sites
• Collating, preparing, and arranging old kit for disposal
• Active Directory device management
• Maintaining accurate asset management records
