Location: Mostly remote with occasional travel to Bristol

The Role
We are seeking an experienced IT Service Design/Service Management Consultant to support a Defence programme focused on improving how IT services are structured, integrated and delivered.

This is a consultative and advisory engagement. The successful candidate will help assess and shape the service operating model and service management approach - not implement technology or tools.

The engagement will focus on understanding how services should operate and mature within a SIAM (Service Integration and Management) environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Review existing IT service delivery and operating practices
• Assess service management maturity and identify improvement opportunities
• Design or refine service operating models and service processes
• Support alignment to ITIL best practices
• Ensure effective integration across multiple suppliers within a SIAM model
• Provide recommendations to improve governance, service structure, and operational effectiveness
• Work within Defence and secure environment governance frameworks
• Produce clear assessment outputs and practical improvement recommendations

• Experience working within Defence, Central Government, or secure environments
• MOD, Defence Digital, DE&S, NATO or similar programmes desirable
• Strong background in IT Service Management/Service Design
• Experience operating within SIAM or multi-supplier environments
• Good understanding of ITIL v3 or ITIL v4 frameworks
• Experience using ITSM tooling (eg ServiceNow) from a service design or operational perspective
  (tool usage and integration understanding - not implementation or development)

• Target Operating Model (TOM) or operating model design
• Service maturity assessments or service reviews
• Supplier governance or integration design
• Financial modelling or service cost modelling
• Consultancy or advisory-led delivery environments
• Multiple suppliers and stakeholders

• Active SC Clearance required
