Job Description: Job Title: IT Support Technician (Tier 2 Deskside Support) Location: Cary, NC 27513 (Onsite) Duration: 12-Month Contract Schedule: 1st Shift - Monday - Friday - 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM Visa Sponsorship: Not available now or in the near future for this position. Position Overview: We are seeking an IT Support Technician to provide onsite Tier 2 Deskside Support. This role will be responsible for deploying and configuring computers, upgrading Windows operating systems, imaging devices, managing IT assets, and providing hands-on technical support. The ideal candidate will have strong troubleshooting abilities, desktop support experience, and a solid understanding of computing and networking fundamentals. Key Responsibilities: Deploy new computers and replace outdated devices Upgrade systems from Windows 10 to Windows 11 Image and configure desktop and laptop computers Dispose of outdated IT assets following company procedures Utilize PowerShell, Python, and other tools to support IT operations Lift and move computer equipment and printers as needed Update and maintain asset records in ServiceNow Follow Knowledge Base articles and established procedures for issue resolution Create and maintain basic documentation and records Identify process or operational issues and resolve them using established procedures Escalate issues that fall outside documented solutions Maintain equipment, supplies, and operational data supporting business processes Provide effective email communication and end-user support Required Qualifications: Degree in Information Technology or related discipline, or equivalent experience High School Diploma or equivalent required Knowledge of computing and networking concepts and fundamentals Experience using Microsoft Office applications, intranet, and internet tools Understanding of computer security policies and security concepts Ability to drive locally as required Ability to lift up to 50 pounds 1+ year of IT support experience preferred; recent college graduates will also be considered Preferred Skills: Desktop Support Windows 10/11 Deployment & Imaging PowerShell Scripting Python Asset Management & ServiceNow Hardware Troubleshooting Networking Fundamentals Customer Support and Communication Skills AL-R7 Employment Type: Contract Years Experience: 1 - 3 years Salary: $23 - $24 Hourly Bonus/Commission: No
