£425 per day | 6 months | Swansea (2 Days Per Week Onsite)

We are seeking an experienced Java Developer to join a large-scale digital transformation programme within the public sector.

This role will involve developing and enhancing modern, scalable applications using Java and Spring-based technologies within an Agile delivery environment. You will work alongside cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions that support critical public services.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain Java-based applications
• Build and support microservices architectures
• Develop RESTful APIs and Back End services
• Collaborate with architects, developers, testers and product teams
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement
• Produce clean, maintainable and well-tested code
• Troubleshoot and resolve application issues

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong commercial experience with Java development
• Experience with Spring Boot and the wider Spring ecosystem
• Proven experience building Microservices architectures
• Experience developing and consuming REST APIs
• Understanding of software design principles and best practices
• Experience working within Agile teams
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
