Summary

Summary Reese Law Group is a law firm located in Carlsbad (San Diego County) that specializes in debt collections, subrogation, bankruptcy, and replevins. Reese Law Group is seeking a dedicated Junior Database Administrator to assist our senior IT staff with the design, implementation, and maintenance of our company's database systems. This role offers an excellent opportunity to grow your technical skills in a collaborative environment while contributing to critical projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Software Development:

• Assist in designing, coding, testing, and debugging software applications.

• Collaborate with the IT Manager, key stake holders, and partners to understand project requirements and specifications.

• Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and share learning experiences.

• Lead the documentation of software features and functionalities.

SQL Database Administration:

• Support the maintenance and administration of SQL databases.

• Monitor database performance, implement changes, and apply new patches and versions when required.

• Assist in developing and optimizing SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions.

• Help ensure data integrity and security across all databases.

Data Management:

• Assist the IT manager in performing regular data imports, exports, uploads and transformations as needed.

• Assist in backup and recovery plans for databases.

• Support data analysis tasks by providing necessary data extracts and reports.

Technical Support:

• Provide technical support to internal teams regarding application and database issues.

• Troubleshoot and resolve line of business software application and database problems under the guidance of IT Manager.

• Assist in the deployment of applications and updates.

Continuous Learning:

• Stay up to date with emerging technologies and best practices in software development and database management.

• Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance technical skills.

• Attain relevant database, programing, and data security certifications

• Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies i.e. Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Parallel and Asynchronous Data processing.

Technical Skills:

• Familiarity with SQL and relational database concepts.

• Understanding of database design, indexing, and normalization.

• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, or other database systems is preferred.

• Knowledge of version control systems like Git, and GitHub

Soft Skills:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Good communication and teamwork skills.

• Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.

• Experience: 0-2 years of experience in software development and/or SQL database administration.

• Certifications: Any relevant certifications e.g., Microsoft Technology Associate, SQL Server experience is a plus but not required

Physical, Mental, and Environmental Demands:

• Must be able to work in a seated or standing position, for periods up to and exceed 8.0 hours per day.

• Extensive use of a mouse and keyboard, and calculator.

• Extended viewing of a computer screen.

• Extensive use of a telephone.

Scheduling Requirements:

• Must be able to work a normal M-F schedule, on site.

Location:

• This position is domiciled at the offices of Reese Law Group, in Carlsbad, CA.
