Junior IT Computer Operator

• Location: Fully remote
• Contract: W2 only, 6 month contract with potential for extension or conversion to full time
• Pay: $22/hr
• Shift: Likely operational support (24x7 exposure preferred)

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and execute automated applications and batch processing jobs
• Monitor job scheduler (Control-M or similar) and respond to failed job alerts
• Troubleshoot common job failures using documented SOPs
• Escalate incidents outside defined procedures
• Fulfill basic customer service requests using predefined scripts
• Document incidents, requests, and resolutions in ITSM tools
• Execute approved, low-risk operational changes during change windows
• Adhere to change management and operational governance processes

Required Skills

• 1+ year experience in Computer Operations or IT Operations
• Hands-on experience with: Control-M or similar job scheduling tools, IBM AS/400 (iSeries) environments, Jira and Confluence
• Basic understanding of ITIL / ITSM concepts

Required Education

• Computer trade school certification or Associate degree or higher in IT / Computer Science (or equivalent experience)

Preferred Skills

• Experience in 24x7 operations or production support
• Exposure to batch processing and alert monitoring
• Familiarity with change management processes
