Job Duties
As a Kitchen Helper at Black Sheep Pub, you will perform general kitchen support duties in accordance with the Job Bank lead statement for NOC 65201 Kitchen Helpers. Your responsibilities will include:
Assist cooks and other kitchen staff in preparing food by washing, peeling, cutting, and preparing ingredients
Clean and sanitize kitchen work surfaces, equipment, utensils, dishes, and cookware
Load, operate, and unload dishwashing machines and manually wash pots, pans, and kitchen tools
Remove kitchen garbage and recycling and ensure waste areas are kept clean and organized
Receive, unpack, and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards, and other storage areas
Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas in compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards
Perform other routine kitchen duties as directed to support efficient kitchen operations
Qualifications
No formal education required.
On-the-job training will be provided.
No specific language requirement; the position involves routine, non-complex kitchen support duties and instructions can be demonstrated on the job.
Previous experience in a food service or kitchen environment is an asset but not required.
Ability to perform repetitive tasks and stand for extended periods.
Reliable, punctual, and able to follow basic workplace instructions.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
